I'm sorry, but as far as I can see, this has nothing to do with the scariness of the Harry Potter fandom. Reading the whole story, it seems like there are two shady people who have been fleecing LotR(ips) fen and have now moved *on* to fleece people in real life by dressing up as characters (including HP) for money. They did not originate in HP, they are not involved in HP fandom. What other bad stuff has occurred in HP fandom has nothing to do with this.
