Anyone know a good source of Firefly/Serenity meta? I'm looking for something to talk about.

In fandom, meta is discussion that goes beyond the material presented on the show/movie/book/what-have-you. For example:

In Firefly a discussion about the episode 'Shindig' and why the sword fight was cool is a discussion. An in depth discussion of the role of the Registered Companion within the society of the Alliance would be meta.

Then there's fandom meta, which is analysis of fandom itself. This would include discussions like 'why do we slash?' 'is the internet ruining fandom?' etc...

Deep thoughts. Very deep thoughts. Like why every planet SG-1 goes to looks like British Columbia. ::grin:: Meta can be fun (I just read a piece on that very subject) and it can be deep and thoughtful. Everything from explaining away plot holes and inconsistancies to thesises on race and gender in various fandoms. It's fun and elightening, and often enhances my enjoyment of various fandoms.
