Once again, it is Lent and my face is smeared with ashes.
So it's Lent and I've started making with the atonement. But before I get serious I'd like to share a humorous little song about Lent with all of you. Because seriously, Lent has so much about it that's funny, and so few people actually make the jokes.

I've been feeling a decided lack of compassion lately. I feel like I've let hatred and negativity make a home for itself in my heart. I need to work on that. Lutherans don't usually fast for Lent, but I usually do. It's not something I talk about. I tend to use Lent to examine my character and work on things that I feel need improving, and whenever I come upon that thing I've decided to stay away from (usually alcohol or chocolate, but it's been other things) it's like a little reminder of what I'm working on.
