Mamma Mia

Had the day off today so I went to a matinee of Mamma Mia. I have to say in terms of pure enjoyment, I liked it better than Batman. I mean I know that's sort of like saying "I like cake better than lobster" and it's not like I'm complaining that Batman was dark and creepy because, HELLO! Batman. I guess I was just in the mood for fluff. And ABBA. And pretty boys, and funny old broads, and unexpected gayness, and gorgous scenery. And ABBA.

Also, I stopped by Suncoast today and picked up Birds of Prey and the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode.

ETA: I truly hope that as time passes, google image search will turn up more and more pictures of Dominic Cooper without a shirt.

A thought on Mamma Mia-some people are watching it wrong

In a lot of the reviews I've read, both professional and amateur, I keep seeing people talking in a negative way about how they were more focused on Donna than Sophie, or that they identifed more with Donna. I think they're missing the point. Donna is the hero of the piece. Not Sophie.
