brak666: (Call me Iceman)

At long long last

DSL has finally come to my area. And at $29.95/month it's a damn sight cheaper than cable. I know it's a touch slower than cable, but not noticebly so (in comparison to my cable and my father's DSL). I need to do it this week though, there's no activation fee if you start before November.

I had a lot of weird dreams last night. There was one where dad and I were cleaning cat vomit stains out of my carpet. Then there was the one where I was a member of the X-Men (brought on by playing far too much X-Men Legends). That one was cool. I could shoot lightning from my hands and I was sleeping with Iceman.

How are you enjoying X-men Legends so far? (I have a Peter fetish myself.)

I'm really enjoying it. I'm not much liking Peter. He fights too slow. I'm wondering why they gave Magma such a prominent role. I do like to play with her though. She's a good fighter. I'm also really liking Jean Grey right now. She was tough to keep alive at first, but now that I've got her up to level 25 she's really kicking ass. Storm is pretty cool too. It's not as overly complicated as most RPG's which I'm liking. I know there's a guidebook for it, but I haven't hit the point where I feel like I need it.

The fighting is pretty intense. And I am very happy with a level 30 Peter. I kicked Iceman off my main squad as soon as I could. I haven't needed a guide. I'm sick of the Healer gouging me on his prices. Grrr.

Gambit is cool but not strong enough. DUDE, Cyke becomes the man once he reaches the second tier on his powers. (I love the extreme powers, Gambits especially.)

I very rarely use Gambit because he keeps getting killed. Iceman is ok, but I don't use him that often. Just when I need to put out fires. I wish Jubilee was more destructive.

Where are you in the game?

Yeah Jubes is too weak and making me be Magma makes me not use her. I like Psylocke, but she is not a heavy hitter either. :( Really Storm, Jean, Cyclops, and Coloosus for me are the A team. Though I did clear a level using Psylocke, Gambit, Magma, and Wolverine. That was an interesting combination

I use mostly Jean, Magma, Rogue, and Wolverine. But depending on the enemies I'm expecting I'll switch it up. Like when I was fighting the Sentinels in New York, I used Rogue, Colossus, and Wolverine. Iceman was my fourth once I realized the Sentinels go down a lot faster if you freeze them first.

Right now I'm rescuing the Professor from the astral plane. I'm having trouble beating Avalanche.

Yes, Avalanche is a pain in the butt. Pyro was the worst for me. Of course I can't beat the freaking Graduation Exam. I get close. Like three seconds from victory and then lose. Grrrrr.

Sleeping with Iceman is good in any form - even if you did have to clean up kitty vomit to get to him. Do you even *have* a cat?

Do you even *have* a cat?

Yes. I have one. And Karen has two, one of which I swear is bulemic. So, that dream was pretty true to life.

SBC offered a DSL deal MUCH cheaper than the cable company I'm now with. So I called up and told Cox Cable that I'm switching if they don't make the offer more competitive. So my $49.99 / month for 1.5 Mb Down / 256 kb Up has turned into $23.99/month for 4MB down / 512 kb Up. This deal expires in 6 months, but by then I'm sure I can find a deal somewhere, call Cox, and get hooked up again. If you are happy with your cable connection, consider doing something like that. Besides, switching is a nuisance.
