question

Am I the only one who feels like going out and buying a pack of cigarettes every time he sees a thetruth.com ad?

Well, I've never smoked a cigerette in my entire life, and I don't know what thetruth.com is...

So I am not the one to answer...

I know kissing Raymond after he smokes is like licking and ashtray...

Oh, I checked the website and now remember some of these ads.

No, not a single solitary one made me want to go buy a pack of cigarettes. They have caused me to get into fights (some serious) with Raymond about his smoking them, though... That is how my father died. The emphysema blisters in his lungs burst and he drowned in the fluid in his own lungs... My wonderful father isn’t with me any more because he smoked.

Have I told you how much I love the music you uploaded for me?

WOW!

I think I'm just contrarian by nature. The best way to get me to do something is to tell me not to do it. I just get the feeling I'm being preached to by those ads and it makes me want to do the exact opposite of what they're telling me. And I don't even smoke.

Noooo. And the anti-marijuana ad council ads sometimes do. (Mary Jane and roofies are not the same, people, and as long as you pretend they are, you have 0 credibility.)

I think the difference is that truth.com ads are generally aimed at calling shenanigans on cigarette companies, as opposed to saying, "Smoking is bad for you, in case you missed the last thirty years in America."

I think that's what bothers me. If they were just telling me that smoking is bad for me and letting me make my own decision, it wouldn't bother me. But I feel like they're trying to tell me how I should feel. And I don't like that.
