I think the difference is that truth.com ads are generally aimed at calling shenanigans on cigarette companies, as opposed to saying, "Smoking is bad for you, in case you missed the last thirty years in America."
I think that's what bothers me. If they were just telling me that smoking is bad for me and letting me make my own decision, it wouldn't bother me. But I feel like they're trying to tell me how I should feel. And I don't like that.
