There was a scene with the Doctor and Donna in town after the volcano erupts. They're trying to get back to the TARDIS and Donna is trying to convince everyone to run for the hills instead of down to the beach where they're all headed. She sees a little boy and tries to get him to come with her, but his mother comes and takes him away as Donna yells after her that she's going the wrong way.
Then after the scene with the Doctor and Donna in the TARDIS where the Doctor tells her she was right about saving the family there's a sort of epilogue that shows them living in Rome. Quintus is now studying to become a doctor and Evelina much happier and healthier, and has a boyfriend. It ends with a shot of the shrine to the household gods. It's a relief of the Doctor and Donna flanking the TARDIS.
