So, found out when I got to work today that I was supervising. I did not know this the day before. I hope they pay me more. Anyway, around 8:30, the 11-7 supervisor calls to make sure she's not on the schedule because she was at an in service all day and was supposed to have the night off. Of course, she was on the schedule (the flaky HR secretary strikes again). So I took her off the schedule. No big deal, because there's still a nurse on each floor.

Then we had a lady fall and hit her head. She got a big cut in the back. And in case you don't know Head Lacs=Much Blood. So in the middle of that, I get a call from the 11-7 nurse on my floor. She just fell down the stairs and hurt her shoulder and an ambulance is on the way to pick her up.

Well, fuck me. What do I do now? So I called the Director of Nursing and we worked out a plan. The nurse working on second floor who was supposed ot come to first floor at 11 and stay there until relief arrived at 3:30 went to my floor instead for the whole shift. While I who intended to go home at 11:30 and arrive in time to catch the west coast feed of The West Wing would go to first floor until 3:30. So, that's what I did.

It wasn't so bad. They were quiet for the most part. The 11-7 aide on first floor is a hottie and a half. Straight though. The fucker! So I listened to the Tony Lucca CD I stole from Karen and worked on the JC/Tony fic I seem to only be able to write after midnight while I'm at work. Another quiet four hours and I think it'll be done.

Oh yeah, and I get a bonus. Plus overtime. Yay!

But I had to be at work so /Yay!
I thought of putting this under Strange Things You Hear at a Nursing Home, but it doesn't quite fit.

I was joking with a patient,(the above mentioned senile old man) and he was telling me about all the affairs he had and that he believes he is now in the nursing home because he's, as he puts it, "a habitual liar". I told him that maybe he should've behaved when he was younger and he gave me what is perhaps the best piece of life advise I have ever received:

"Don't behave. Just Enjoy it."
