Whew!

We got rain today. Lots of it. With wind and thunder. My supervisor has been on vacation all week and when that happens they usually give me her job as well as my own. Today and yesterday I was fortunate enough to have another nurse assigned to my floor so I could actually do the supervisor job. Unfortunately, part of that job today was going out in the pouring rain and thunder to take down the patio umbrellas. I was actually able to save three of them. Two got ripped to shreds. I used one of those terry-cloth poncho things we use when we wheel people back from the shower and bath blanket around my head. I only got a little damp.

The thunder also seems to have caused some kind of power hiccup because when I got back it was apparent that my computer had restarted at some point. I've been obsessively saving my Emerald Cove story. Praise be to Jeebus it's intact.

Today

Well, I had intended to spend the day at home. Then dad called me up to see if I wanted to come over for lunch. So I did. Then I had to take Karen to work. Then a short trip to Sam's to pick up more blank tapes turned into a three hour shopping excursion with mom. Then dinner with the 'rents and now I'm sitting here while mom is dial flipping. I've got Emerald Cove taping for Trixie and I'll be starting yours tonight. Heather, yours is done. So I've got one more set of EC tapes to make before Monday plus an MMC JC highlights tape. After that, I've got two more sets of EC tapes to make so I can mail them. Then I think I can finally put the spare VCR back in the basement and restore the living room to some semblance of order.

In other news, I'm taking mom to see EpII at the $3.00 theather in Easton tomorrow.
