Went to work a half hour early yesterday for an in service on standardized care plans (woo! exciting stuff, that). I didn't learn much about them except that this is probably going to be one of those things that's designed to save work but only ends up creating more. Also that it will definitely take up more space than the fill in the blank and write it your own damn self care plans we're using now. Because what every nurses' station needs is One More Binder. UG.

Also stayed a little over half an hour late because one of the night nurses was stuck in traffic. In the Bronx. Whatever. I got some writing done which was nice.

I'm on some shaky ground financially. It seems like all the big bills come at once. The bill for JC came this month, so tack that on to everything else and it's a pretty hefty chunk of change. I hope the rebate comes back soon. I've got the money I've set aside for the Disney trip, but I'd rather not touch that if I don't have to. I get paid this week except I'm a day short. See, I was supposed to work last Saturday for having Wednesday off (Yay! Tony I him), but they didn't need me. They said they could give me a vacation day for it, but I only have one left and I want to use that for a con (probably Fellowslash, but maybe Eclecticon). So I'm working this Friday night into Saturday morning (which counts as Saturday for work). Unfortunately, I don't get a day off this week to make up for it. The good part is that last Saturday I would've been working the floor, but this Saturday I'm supervising. Which means they pay me more. Also my supervisor leaves for vacation this Friday, so I'll be filling in for her. Hopefully the extra money will pad out my bank account. And maybe someone can pay her share of the rent this month *cough cough*. With the refund I've got coming, I shouldn't have to put that much more aside for Disney and I'm cutting way back on my expenses in a desperate attempt to save money.

That said, Karen's got a bus ticket to New York she never used and it's still good, so I think I'm going to reward myself for a long hard work week by trying my luck at the RENT lotto. If I don't win I'll see about SRO tickets. They're only $20. And that'll be my last non-food expense for a while.

Was going to exercise, but now I have to go to Agway to buy grass seed for dad. Don't ask.
