Well, not all new furniture. Just a new sofa. Mine is...well, I guess you could say worn out. It was fairly cheap to begin with and frankly, I'm surprised it's held up so well in the three years I've had it. But the springs aren't quite so springy anymore. It's time for a new one. I don't want to spend huge amounts because it's been my experience that sofas that get regular use don't last much longer than four years anyway. So even if I spent money on a really nice one I'd have to replace it in a few years anyway. Not to mention the damage the cats do to it. Anyway, I've actually been thinking more along the lines of a really comfortable futon. Yes, such things do, in fact, exist. I saw a really nice one at Sam's Club for just under $500. There's also a Futon World at one of the local shopping centers, so I'll probably check that out as well. The futon will be good for guests as well, since we only have the single bed in the guest room and almost always have more than one person when people stay the night. Also, the one big cushion means no more buried remotes.
