Had a nice couple of weeks.
Christmas was nice. I got to spend some quality time with the family. Was gifted with many wonderful things including the Battlestar Galactica box set and a set of earphones designed to fit nicely inside of my wrap around earmuffs. On the video game front I scored Final Fantasy X-2 and Karaoke Revolution (which is loads of fun). I got a number of American Eagle gift cards, which I used to buy an awesome suede coat. I think I have enough left over to get some shoes, or maybe a sweater. I also got a new black trench from my parents for my birthday. London Fog. I love it. The Sunday after Christmas we visited my mother's side of the family. My aunt likes to give me wine, which is fine by me. Cousin N and his wife gave me a candle which I regifted to
caorann's mother a few days later. Cousin A gave me one of the AE cards. I finally got to meet Cousin A's baby. She was absolutely adorable. So quiet and content to be held by anyone. I'm so jealous. I want one. Cousin A was wearing the most godawful paisley shirt. All night long I was resisting the urge to ask why he was dressed like Lance Bass. I don't think he would've been amused.
sorka42 came to visit and we exchanged gifts. She got me the B5 In the Beginning/The Gathering DVD. For my birthday she made me a beautiful clock. It's Legolas on a very rustic looking piece of wood. Gorgeous.
caorann got me some Body Shop products and my very own copy of Stripped (so now she can have hers back) and replaced my scratched up copy of Now or Never. She was very happy with her Dorough Lupus Foundation bear.
Then we headed up to Vermont for New Year's. Spent the day in Burlington, saw Return of the King again, wasted loads of time at Borders as we are wont to do. Picked up the Return of the King sound track with the slashiest cover ever. Also bought the soundtrack to Zanna Don't, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them on CD, and Shadowsinger, the last book in the Spellsong Cycle by LE Moddessitt Jr. Drove home on the first listening to the wonderfully witty Al Franken.
Worked today. Will work tomorrow. Sunday we'll probably be going to visit
starbuck3614 who was unable to join us on the trip to VT. I'm off Monday, and I was going to go see Tony Lucca in NYC, but this week has been pretty tiring despite the whole not working thing. And going into New York and finding my way around is always such a stressful experience (I am decidedly non-urban), I may just stay home and veg on Monday.
