Just got back from a day in New York with
starbuck3614. We went to see Wicked and Spamalot. Wicked was great. Sadly neither Rue McClanahan nor Ben Vereen were on today, but I was really going because I wanted to see Shoshana Bean as Elphaba and she did not disappoint. Spamalot was terriffic. Even funnier than I thought it would be. I already want to see it again. I sprung for the $300 front row ticket, so I got to see lots of Alan Tudyk dancing up close. He is so freaking gorgeous in person. He was very nice to everyone at the stage door, even though he was obviously exhausted. He led us all in singing Happy Birthday to Sara Ramirez (the Lady of the Lake) who was very likely going out somewhere after the show, as I doubt she wears her Tony dress home every night. She was awesome, both in the show and after. Someone close to me must have mentioned the dress to her because I heard her say "Well, it is my dress. I'm not gonna wear it just once." I got her autograph, which made me happy. Then Alan signed our Firefly DVDs and encouraged us to go see the movie. He also told us that Morena Baccarin had been there. But we didn't get to see her. All in all, quite a wonderful day.
