Escapade and a few other things

I don't think I'll be going to Escapade this year. The money's just not there. I took some big trips this past year and I've got another one planned for the Spring that still needs a few payments. I've got holiday expenses and a few other things. I'm not broke. Not technically. I could go if I really wanted to empty my savings. But well...I don't want to do that. It makes me sad. I look forward to going every year and there are so many people that I don't get to see at any other time. But taking the trip would be really irresponsible in my current financial circumstances. I'd been hoping to pull things together in time, but no matter how many times I crunch the numbers it just doesn't come out. So barring a major windfall, I won't be going.

In other news, I'm almost done with season two of Boston Legal. This show is awesome. Alan and Denny are so sweet in a completely non-sexual way (though I can see why some people slash them). They're friendship is just so solid and despite all they're hetero bravado they're not afraid to express their love for one another.

I also watched the first two seasons of Numb3rs and I think I need to watch that more often as well.

All this DVD watching has left me behind on actual TV. I'm behind on Ugly Betty and Medium. Hopefully I'll have all this out of my system by the time Heroes starts up again.
