work and stuff

Work is going pretty well. For the last two days I've received calls from work at ungodly hours of the morning asking if I would come in early because the unit manager had called out sick. I did it. The first day because I wasn't totally awake enough to say no and the second day because one of the CNA's I like also called and assured me that if I came in I wouldn't have to pass meds. The good part was that I got to go home slightly earlier than usual. Well, today they called and left a message saying someone was sick and wanted to go home early, and would I want to come in early again. And I guess I was just a little tired of giving them my mornings. All that stuff I record at night to watch the next morning has been piling up on my Tivo and stuff I recorded and hadn't watched yet has already been deleted to make room for the new stuff. Anyway, you can't be too accomodating to the people at work or they start to take advantage and I'm due in at 11 and I think that's plenty early enough for whoever it is that wants to go home.

In fannish news I've been thinking a lot about the Ancients. I really need to start carrying paper aroundd when thoughts pop into my head for an eventual essay.

This morning I was listening to my MP3 player. I had it set to shuffle and I knew there was a song I wanted to hear but didn't know what it was. So I just kept hitting next until the right song came along. Does anywone else do this? I do it with food too. I'll be hungry for something specific but have no idea exactly what it is, so I'll just randomly sample whatever is in the house until I find something that satisfies.

And now I go to work.
