con.txt day one

Having a mostly good time seeing people. The hotel is giving me fits though. First they didn't have the room we reserved (non-smoking double), so they put us in a suite instead, which sounds cool except for the fact that it still only had one bed. Also, the air conditioner didn't work. Seriously. It was 73 when we got in, so we turned the thermostat down and went to dinner. When we got back it was 77. They didn't have anyone who could fix it, so at midnight they moved us to another room. Double beds this time, but smoking. So it's smelly. And the AC is still pretty weak, but at least it keeps the temp under 75 (so far). Hopefully we'll get moved into a non-smelly room today.

Con programming starts in half an hour, so at least there's that.

Funny thing about names

So there's this British actor who is very very hot. Unfortunately he has the same name as one of the residents of my nursing home who... well, let's just say he's not hot and leave it at that.

So whenever I see someone on LJ or a list or message board say "[name of actor] is so hot!" I think "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" before I realize that they're not talking about the guy I'm thinking of.
