Damn, work is sucking right now. They changed day shift charge nurses on my floor. First off they replaced an RN with an LPN but kept the RN on the floor as a med nurse. This has pissed a lot of people off. The new charge nurse also seems to think that in lieu of having a unit manager (the new one doesn't start until September), that she's my new boss. I take every opportunity possible to disabuse her of that notion. She's got a nasty habit of leaving work for me to do. So I've started doing it right back. She's also apparently so distracted by her need to change all of our paperwork, that she fails to notice lab reports that need to be called to the doctor. Tomorrow I need to have a chat with her about which labs are acceptable to just fax and which ones require informing the doctor personally. She's so incredibly out of her depth.
