starbuck3614 came to visit. sorka42 was supposed to come as well, but she got sick. Unfortunately, so did I. On the 29th I started with a sore throat. By the 30th I had a cold in full force. My boss was nice enough to let me go home early (and I got sick time for the remainder of the day). This was nice because I needed the rest but also it was my birtday and my mother made me dinner. My parents got me the Nintendo DS and Final Fantasy III that I asked for. My sister got me the special Marvel edition of Scene-it. Unfortunately I'd already received it from starbuck3614 the day before. I didn't have the heart to tell my sister. I hadn't put it on the list my family had asked for at Christmas and it really was very thoughtful of her. starbuck3614 also got me the Philip Olivier calendar (oh teh hotness!).
The cold got worse that night and I got no sleep. Literally. I called out of work for the 31st which sucks for a couple reasons. One is that calling out before the holiday means I don't get paid for the 1st. Another is that Sunday is always a bad day staff wise and I'm sure they had to scramble to find someone to cover me. I would've gone in if not for the total lack of sleep.
I was off on the 1st and spent the day resting and watching my mom's season 1 of Boston Legal (hilarious, btw). Work yesterday sucked. I'm feeling mostly better today except for a runny nose and cough that I'm sure will linger for a few weeks (they always do since my bout with viral bronchitis in '98).
Today is for cleaning and watching the first season of Numb3rs that I gotcaorann for Christmas. I'm surprised. I've seen more episodes than I thought. Right now I'm watching the one with Susan Egan and NPH. Charlie's so cute when his father sells the house and he gets all upset.
