We had a huge storm blow through yesterday. Large portions of the town I live in are out of power including my house. I actually got off pretty light in terms of damage. I think my grill is broken though. But a lot of people in my neighborhood had there fences blown over and further into town several trees were knocked down by the wind. And I'm not talking about little trees here. Some of them were huge. And there's branches everywhere. I'm at my parents' house right now. The news says we may not get power back until tomorrow.

As an American and a medical professional I am absolutely disgusted that partisanship has infected the office of the Surgeon General.
Though honestly what disgusts me more is that rather than resign and blow the whistle when it would've mattered Dr. Carmona stayed on the job for four years and is just talking about it now. It's the same reason Colin Powell has lost any credibility with me. It doesn't take any bravery to stand up and say something now that the whole country has figured out Bush doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. If these people had stood up when it mattered this country would be in a very different place right now.

Went home just now to pick up some stuff for work and check in on the cats. Some time while I was away the power came back on. So yay! I'll be sleeping in my own bed tonight.
