Someone on my friends list who posts beautiful pics of pretty boys that I enjoy a great deal has recently decided to stop posting because she's recieved a number of complaints from people.
To them I can only say, if you're connection is so slow that loading LJ posts with several pictures on them takes a long time there are several options you can exercise. For starters, you can take all the people who post multiple pictures in single posts off your friends list. Second, there's not an internet browser I've ever seen that doesn't allow you to deactivate the 'image autoload' feature. The page comes up and you get little boxes with x's in them, that you can then click on and load or not load at your discretion.
Yes, it's partly the poster's job to make their entries easy to read. I honestly don't think any of us are writing these things because we don't want people to read them. We'd all be posting privately in that case. But at some point the person visiting an LJ has a responsibility as well. There are things you can do if you're using dial-up to maximize your internet experience while decreaseing the time it takes for pages to load. And trust me, I know how much dial-up sucks, but if that's all you've got then you have to deal with it. Tell your browser not to autoload huge files and don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Anyway, my point is that it's her journal and she should be able to post however she wants. If people don't like it, it's up to them to do something about it, not her.
