When did you first discover Harry Potter?:I'd been peripherally aware of it since the first book came out, but didn't read any until just after Goblet of Fire was released. I was going to a con in Grand Rapids, Michigan and I picked up Sorcerer's Stone to read on the plane. By the time I got to my layover in Detroit I was half way done and I bought Chamber of Secrets in the airport bookstore.

How did you feel about OotP's character death?: I felt it was handled pretty poorly, actually. It just seemed so arbitrary and uneccessary. Also, it was pretty silly. I mean if I had a doorway to death in my basement I'd have it in a sealed box or something like the arc at the end of Raiders, you know? I wouldn't just leave it standing there. I mean what if some hapless squib janitor tripped and fell into it while he was dusting?
What are your views on the Dark Lord?: I was hoping he'd do more now that he had an actual body. Maybe next time.

ITA about the doorway to death. What kind of idiots keep a doorway to death around, WITHOUT A DOOR? Then again, this is the government we're talking about, so the level of idiocy is increased by a factor of 12.
