I decided I needed a Degrassi icon. I just love these boys. They're so cute. The Advocate did an interview with them recently (the one with Wes Clark on the cover). They're only 17 and 18 but they've got such great heads on their shoulders. It's really heartening.

And I totally blame Canada for my newest obsession. That show is crack, man. Cheesy, Canadian crack.

I wish I could see it. I wish I knew what it was about. Are they the stars of the show, or just two of the characters. In the interview, are either one of them really gay? Gosh, I wish I knew more...

Re:

It's a teen drama set in a Toronto School (grades 8-12 as near as I can tell). The show doesn't really have any big stars. It's an ensemble show that deals with characters in each grade. The cast is pretty large. So large in fact, that not all of the characters even know each other. Not every chacracter gets a story in every episode. It's very different from American teen drama which tends to focus on one group of kids and tell all the stories from their POV. They've got geeks and jocks, and goths, all kinds of kids and they each get their turn in the spotlight. You get a much better cross-section of high school life than in most American shows of its kind.

In the interview, John Bregar(the blonde), who plays Dylan says he's straight. Adamo Ruggiero, who plays Marco was a little cagey, saying he didn't want to say one way or the other because he'd rather the audience focus on the character rather than the actor who plays him. Though when actors answer that particular question that way I tend to take it as a "yes".
