Still sick. Ivan paid us a visit last night. The wind woke me up, but I was able to get back to sleep until 7:30 when work called to ask if I wanted to come in as the entire day shift had called in sick. Well, they're lucky Karen answered the phone because I would've been less than kind. Anyway, got up to find that the internet was down, so I spent the morning reading my saved copy of Through the Wire and listening to Broadway's Best on SIRIUS radio. After I finished the story I took my laptop and headed for Dad's to get onto his WiFi network. On the way over I underestimated the depth of a puddle and flooded my engine. So of course I stalled out. Fortunately the engine was hot enough to dry it pretty quickly. It was also fortunate that I was able to pull into a parking lot before my inertia ran out.
So I'm back to listening to SIRIUS. Earlier in the day they were doing a memorial to Fred Ebb who died last week. For those who don't know Fredd Ebb was the lyricist for such musicals as Cabaret, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Had a squeeful boyband fan moment while listening this morning. They have these little canned intros by broadway bigshots. People like Bernadette Peters and Nathan Lane. Like "Hi this is soandso. Here's a song from suchandsuch on Sirius 77, Broadway's Best" Well, today I heard "Hi, this is Joey Fatone and here's a song from Little Shop of Horrors on Sirius 77."
