Good (and possibly bad) news about the RENT movie

Both Idina Menzel and Anthony Rapp have been confirming to fans at stage doors across our great land (ok, just NYC) that they have indeed been cast in the RENT movie. This to me, lends credence to rumors of Adam Pascal, Taye Diggs, and Jesse Martin having also been cast for the movie. According to IMDB, Angel hasn't been cast yet, but I've heard rumors Wilson Heredia(sp?) has been cast (you ask me, they'd be stupid not to get Jai Rodriguez if they can). Also I just read a blurb somewhere that Rosario Dawson will be playing Mimi. I will reserve judgement until I find out if she can sing. I tend to like her in things, so I remain hopeful. The only rumor that I've heard about Joanne (which is scary and deeply disturbing) is that they're looking to cast a white woman. I really hope that one is wrong. Really, really so much that I'm almost willing to pray for it hope that one is wrong.

I'm choosing to focus on the fantastically talented and amazing part. Because when I think of the people they could've chosen...shudder. At least I know these people are good.
