I'm feeling kind of antsy. Like I want to go out and do something. Except there really isn't anyplace to go and do something. I suppose I could go to Rita's, but I don't really think Italian Ice will help.
I know. I'll do a movie review.
Yesterday, I watched Dude, Where's My Car?. It wasn't very good. And when I say 'it wasn't very good' what I really mean is, It sucked hairy donkey balls. So as you can imagine, I wasn't too terribly excited when I found Harold & Kumar go to White Castle in my mailbox after work.
Oh. My. God. How in the world the same creative team could've made these movies and have one suck hairy donkey balls and have one be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen is beyond me. Don't get me wrong. They're both pretty low brow, but something about Harold & Kumar is slightly more sophisticated than Dude. Both the plots are utterly ridiculous, but H&K actually has character development. Also, in an odd way John Cho and Kal Penn are far more attractive than Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott.
One thing bugged me though. The writers seemed fairly ignorant as to the geography of New Jersey. For one thing, they seem to think that just because it's small on a map, it's actually small. Harold and Kumar leave Hoboken and in one night, travel to Newark, New Brunswick, Princeton, and Cherry Hill all the while running into people they know, many of whom live in their building. Also they go to New Brunswick and eventually Cherry Hill looking for a White Castle when there's a White Castle in Jersey City, which is actually, you know, close to Hoboken (like 15 minutes. 25 tops if traffic is bad.). To give you an idea of what I'm talking about Hoboken is across the Hudson from New York. Cherry Hill is across the Delaware from Philadelphia. The most direct route will take an hour and a half of continuous driving. You'll cut a diagonal line in a South-West direction across the entire state.
But it was funny, and if they had just gone to Jersey City there wouldn't have been a movie. So, I guess I'll deal with it.
Well, that occupied me for a few minutes. Bored again.

Yes! I saw them in reverse order. I love Harold & Kumar so much that I rented Dude and, dude, it was so awful. But H&K? I loved it so much I bought a copy for me and one for Laura. Pretty good extras too.
As for geography, I'm still looking for the Georgetown metro stop featured in No Way Out. Ah, movie magic.

So, so true. But it's also that the characters they play are so quirky and charming and attractive! Kumar, man. I'd do him or Kal Penn in a second. *g*
Man, I need to make a Harold and Kumar icon.
