So, I'm now all caught up with SGA, and while I enjoyed all the episodes (Common Ground through Phantoms), Phantoms really annoyed me. Not for anything the characters did, but for what the writers didn't do. While it was nice that Teyla got to use her brain to save the day, it really irked me that she was immune to the plot device that would've given us some genuine (and sorely lacking) insight into her character.

I know what you mean. It would have made sense to for her to affected somewhat. Teyla's gone to having a little bit of Wraith DNA that gave her a few enhancements to Wraith DNA that protects her from everything Wraith-like. That is just sloppy characterization.
