So I was watching Tucker Carlson just now (mostly because I find him strangely attractive), and remembering why I don't watch the news. What the FUCK IS WRONG WITH CONGRESS??? I just have no words for the general fucked up-ness of government. And I think what they really need to do is recall both houses and elect new people with the pre-requisite that they've never held political office before in their lives and just let them reinvent the entire process. Because they certainly couldn't make it more fucked up than it already is. Every time I start thinking I should watch more news and keep better informed I just get more disgusted with the state of the world.

I frequently (okay, mostly always) think the same thing. But last year some time, I read an article that said that's what the Republicans wanted. For ordinary busy people to be so disgusted with mudslinging and not talking about the issues, etc. that they will give up and leave the government to them's that have the crack-assed agendas. Since then I've been trying to pay a little more attention--but damn! it's hard.

Lust for power, compromise everything to maintain power and destroy everything that is beautiful in the process. Kill what you love just to keep it.

But really, it seems to me that the real problem is the way we finance our political campaigns. By allowing corporations and PACs to be the "Johns" for our political prostitutes, it's the corporations and PACs that get serviced. Until we have public financing of elections, we the people aren't the ones that will be serviced.

I also am leaning towards proportional representation to break up the duopoly.

Tucker Carlson is kinda cute - but only with the sound off and the graphics removed from the screen.
