strange day

I had kind of a strange day. I went to bed at 12am and woke up around 2:30am. No matter what I did I just could not get to sleep, so I got up and played around on the internets. Read some fanfic and watched a lot of youtube. Anyway I had my follow-up with the neurosurgeon today. I had an 8am appointment because I was supposed to work at 11. I got there on time, and got taken back to the exam room right away. Then I waited a half hour for the doctor to come in and talk to me for literally 3 minutes. I scheduled an MRI for next year and went home. Got a happy voice mail from work saying I didn't have to be in until 3pm. I tried to nap, but wasn't able to. Then around 1 work called again to tell me they didn't need me at all. Which is really just as well, because I'm so freakin' tired I'm sure I would've screwed something up. Still couldn't nap, so I watched TV instead. I have a bit of a confession to make: I have fallen hard for the gay storyline they're doing on 'As the World Turns' right now. Up until now, I've been watching only the relevant clips on youtube. But today, since I had nothing better to do, I actually watched a whole episode as it aired. I really do love soap operas. They're just so cheesy and over the top. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy them. I doubt I'll become a regular viewer, but it was enjoyable.

Just got back from a retirement dinner for a nurse I work with. It was really nice, and she seemed surprised. I just wish I wasn't so tired. I also wish I felt like I could go to sleep.

I got a lovely card and a cute little gift in the mail from anothersuperboy today. Thank you, sweetie! It was very thoughtful.
