So what do you think makes us different here in America? On one hand, we could probably both name any number of actors who are (but don't talk about it) or those that we suspect. But then I start thinking about blowback - who would get it more depending on the roles they usually got. Perceived manliness and/or femininity and then you figure in class and color...aieeeee!
I really don't know what the difference is. I think as a culture we're still a bit more hung up on sex than the Brits are, so there's that. And you're right, it's a huge mess. But I think what really needs to happen for things to change is for a large number of people to come out at once. But there's no incentive for people to do that.
