So, I watched 'In the Blood' last night.

Mostly because Tyler Hanes is hot.

It purports to be the first gay horror movie. It's not scary. As one might expect it's pretty bad. Actually, I'm sure that in my 30 years of life I must have seen a worse movie than this. But I'm really hard-pressed to think of one. Oddly enough, it's not the acting that makes it bad. The acting is actually ok. It's just that the story is so horrible and they try for one of those 'Twilight Zone' twist endings but it doesn't work, because rather than just operating counter to audience expectations they just made a red herring out of the entire plot of the movie up until that point. If you can find the sex scene on youtube or something, by all means watch it because it's actually pretty good (though not particularly graphic). But yeah. Don't watch this movie.

Also, in addition to being an actor and commercial announcer, Jake Silbermann is a model.

Sometimes "In The Blood" airs on Logo, that's where I caught it. I actually knew of Tyler Hanes wayyyy before Van, so I was pumped to see him in a movie...I felt like the movie could have been SOOOO good had it been directed better, and had they explored more in-depth into the occult and how it related to Cassidy and his sister and saw more of Cassidy struggling with his sexuality and everything...I thought the acting was pretty good, but the plot annoyed me so much because it had real potential but just didn't go there enough

Exactly. It's not from a lack of talented actors that the movie suffers. It's just an incredibly weak story. And the whole thing at the end where it turns out Cassidy's visions didn't have anything to do with the serial killer? I'm sure the writer thought he was being clever, but really I just felt like I'd been cheated.

Also, I'm a little obsessed with Tyler's freckly shoulders now.
