Well, when Buffy premiered I wasn't even a year out of high school, so the epitome of high school cruelty was not exactly enjoyable. But when she actually demonstrated an ability to grow as a person? That was practically unheard of in a teen drama at the time.

As far as Noah goes, I found him incredibly dull when he first came on the show (I also don't think too highly of gay guys who date girls to prove something to their parents). He's so much more interesting now that he's all fucked up.

Fair enough on Cordelia. I was fascinated by the knowledge that Charisma Carpenter had originally been slated to play Buffy and SMG had auditioned for Cordelia.
