Yeah, I would've happily voted for McCain in 2000, and if he ran for president again I'd probably vote for him.

Though I'm optimistically going to take some comfort in the hope that what he said greatly decreases the chances that Dubya will dump Cheney and pick McCain for a running mate. A Bush/McCain ticket would be much harder to beat.

McCain seems to take every chance he can to take pot shots at Bush. I really don't think he would ever agree to be on Bush's ticket.
